Villages and Pirates

Villages and Pirates is the |UGA| equivalent of Dungeons and Dragons. Previously, it was only called Dungeons and Dragons and for a short time, |UGA|-RPG until it was formally standardized on 2012 September 23 at 2:50 AM. Villagers and Pirates has still been played into 2021, surviving many of Unigamia's ups and downs.

Rules

Setup

Players must first setup their character. Characters only have three simple attributes:

  • Name (Optional)
  • Race
  • Class
  • Health

Players must then populate their battle crests (and magic crest if the player is well balanced enough to have one). Crests can be read in further detail in the Crests section.

After populating their crests, the Pirate King (who is both a player character and the Dungeon Master) will balance the players accordingly, and then the game can begin.

All new games of Villages and Pirates must have a thread posted in the System Lieutenant Lounge with each person's character setup. Pirate Kings should also synopsize the game on the forums when it is finished.

Crests

There are four types of crests in Villages and Pirates, and each player gets the following crests by default:

  • 2 Movement Crests (Free)
  • 2 Battle Crests (Varies)
  • 1 Magic Crest (20-sided die)
  • 1 Ability Crest (20-sided die)

Travel Crests

Movement Crests are used to move around the world. They are also used to measure distance in the world. Some standards exist:

  • Entering buildings takes 1 movement crest.
  • A Village is 1 movement crest in every direction.
  • A Town is 2x2 movement crests. This means that the outside of the town can be reached from the center of town in one movement crest, but going from one side of the city to another requires two movement crests.
  • A City is 4x4 movement crests.

Battle Crests

Battle Crests are crests used for offense and defense. The player is given a lot of leniency in choosing Battle Crests. The Pirate King will either specify a maximum number of points (12/18) that can be combined into 1 to 4/6 Battle Crests.

Crests can either be offensive or defensive in nature, and can also be specialized. The lowest sided die allowed is a three-sided die. Some examples are:

  • (1d6) short sword and a (1d6) buckler. Bucklers will be able to block other attacks, but not natural elements.
  • (1d6) staff and (1d6) barrier. Barriers can block ranged and natural damage, but can be pierced by swords.
  • (1d12) long sword. The player would not be able to defend oneself, but would have a chance of dealing high damage.
  • (4d3) shurikens. Guarantee of doing at least 4 damage every turn.

Armor Crests

A player has an Armor Crest for each piece of armor obtained. Armor Crests are lost in place of HP during battle at the choice of the player.

Arcane Crests

Arcane Crests can only be used if the player starts with or has obtained a magic item. The magic crest can be used after attacks, but must be used before Ability Crests.

Ability Crests (1d20)

Ability Crests are generic. They can essentially be any request by the player to the Pirate King, but should be relative to the player's class. The more ridiculous the request, the less of a chance it has to work.

History

2011 April 8

This was the very first session of V&P where we discovered the voice bot and typed nearly everything in chat.

2012 April 7

Main page: Villages and Pirates/2012 April 7

This session of V&P lasted from 4:24 PM to 4:10 AM the next day.

Assuming that this was the first instance of Villages and Pirates, we all started in a tavern. White was a Ranger in black gear. Sox207 was a mage in a blue robe with a brown mage's cap whose face was hidden.

Outside of the tavern, the village was revealed to be by the ocean. There are docks to the south, houses to the east, and a forest to the north.

At some point in time, Sox207 tried to throw his poop at PatPeter, only for PatPeter to open two portals in each of his hands so that the poop went back and hit Sox.

Gastrofizzy went to the docks and ended up fighting some pirates. Sox207 went into the forest, and after three turns eventually reached the mountains. After another three turns traversing the inside of the mountain, Sox207 found a portal that teleported him to a white, celestial room where he could see everyone in the world below him.

The game eventually ended when we went into the basement of the tavern, found a gameboard of the world were on, and looked upon ourselves looking at the gameboard looking at ourselves...

This session of V&P included the following individuals:

  • PatPeter - Futanari Succubus 125 HP
  • Adam - Archer 150 HP
  • Sox207 - Yandere 200 HP
  • Gastrofizzy - Alchemist 125 HP
  • Mimi - Cougar 200 HP
  • Areo5000 - Thought Rapist 100 HP

Everyone started in a tavern inside Steppe City. Steppe City is 4 clicks by 4 clicks. To the north 2 clicks of forest and six clicks of desert is a gigantic castle. To the west of Steppe City is rainforest, to the east is the docks, and to the south is farms and then a mountain range.

2014 December 06

Tried to play Villages and Pirates on Garry's Mod Sandbox. Never again.

2015 September 25

Main page: Villages and Pirates/2015 September 25

Finally played the first structured game of Villages and Pirates. Re-used the setting of the first game of Villages and Pirates. It ended after Mimi ascended to the sky dimension and accidentally summon Gorgloph the Relentless, and he was slain.

2015 September 27

Main page: Villages and Pirates/2015 September 27

Played another game of Villages and Pirates. Wasn't structured at all. The setting took place at the base of a World Tree, with a forest to the east, ice plains to the south, and desert to the west. The World Tree acted as a castle for the Prince of Goodly Fortune, but his kingdom was taken over by an Ice Queen, who trapped him in a birdcage.

At the end of the session, the Futanari Mage had resurrected everyone in the village and in the world tree as furries, who, after doing physical labor and reproducing, join the pure Skeleton Race. Bonar City (as it is now called) is surrounded by Rose Maria, with titans defending the outside of it. The forest to the east was conquered and the elves and nymphs subjugated by the skeleton race.

Space was Bartholomew Boner and Mimi got married, with Space as the DJ for the wedding. Space's metal necromancer played a metal song for the wedding.

The map began on a sky platform approximately 1000 miles in the sky. To the north was the government sector, to the east was the residential sector, to the south was the school sector, and to the west was the financial/industrial sector.

In the government sector, the legislative branch was to the west, the executive branch was to the north, and the judicial branch was to the right.

In the financial district, there was a corporation to the north, an ore processing facility to the west, and a graviton lift to the south.

On the surface, there was a prehistoric village to the north and a quarry further to the north. The badlands were to the west, an ocean was to the east, and a desert was to the south.

Genie from Aladdin only played for one turn and failed on his die roll.

The game began with Burnie Trump building a wall to prevent passage to the south. Chop went to the financial district and got a transporter from hacking an information kiosk with Handsome Jack inside of it.

Commissar Fuklaw destroyed the wall to the south and then summoned a tank with his dick and went to the north. Galahad went to the east and tried to find her homosexual lover. Burnie Trump went to the north and tried to take over the government, with chop the sandwich knight stuck in his butt cheeks. Kloe also tried to take over the government before Burnie Trump. Saitama destroyed the center platform after jumping to the ground, stranding everyone on the platforms they went to.

Commander Fuklaw destroyed the government sector with his tank and then fell to the ground with Kloe, Trump, and chop. Kloe went to the northeast to a secret futanari government building. chop went back up the lift to the financial sector. Trump went to the Flintstones, overthrew the government, and became their leader.

Galahad meanwhile became engaged to Elroy Jetson. Kloe reveals that the entire government was run by futanari and humans have become slaves workers in a caste system between the proletariats on the ground and the white collar human workers above ground.

Trump sent his army into the graviton lift to take out the upper world, impaling Kloe with a tank barrel, and succeeded in eliminating all platforms. Thankfully, Kloe can survive anything put up her butt. Commander Fuklaw then succeeded in single-handedly destroying every member of Trump's army.

Meanwhile, Saitama killed The Great Dragon hiding in the mountain.
